Helen Crafty Stall: Upcycled Cross Over Tunic for girls (tutorial)

Althought, there is still winter outside, the weather has been a little crazy recently. Almost all the snow melted in a moment and the teperature increased to plus 5 degrees Celsius. Doesn't it smell like spring coming? Well, the calendar says something quite opposite, but it doesn't frighten me. I just can't wait winter pass away, so I made a little project perfect for early spring days. Are You curious? Well, let's see then.

Mimo, że za oknem wciąż zima, pogoda ostatnio trochę powariowała. W okamgnieniu stopniał prawie cały śnieg, a temperatura wzrosła do plus 5 stopni Celsjusza. Czy to zapowiedź wiosny? Cóż, kalendarz mówi coś zupełnie przeciwnego, ale mnie to nie przeraża. Nie mogę się doczekać kiedy minie zima, więc zrobiłam mały wczesno wiosenny projekcik. Jesteście ciekawi co to takiego? I found my old blouse with a cross-over neckline (which I really dislike) in the depths of a closet and was about to give it away or throw to the bin. But finally the floral and leaf print of a fabric saved the blouse's life. So, using a cross over basis I decide to turn a blouse into a cross over girl's tunic. Go lower to see my tutorial.

W zakamarkach szafy znalazłam starą bluzkę z krzyżowanym dekoltem (której nie znoszę) i miałam ją komuś oddać albo zwyczajnie wyrzucić do kosza. Ale w końcu kwiatowo-liściowy nadruk na tkaninie uratował bluzce życie. Toteż, użyłam jako podstawy krzyżowany dekolt i przekształciłam bluzkę w kimonową dziewczęcą tunikę. SUPPPLIES/PRZYBORY:

1. A cross-over neckline blouse./Bluzka z krzyżowanym dekoltem.

2. Needle and thread./Igła i nici.

3. Pins and scissors./Szpilki i nożyczki.

4. Tape-measure and iron./Centymetr i żelazko.

5. Any sewing machine./Dowolna maszyna do szycia.

Step 1.
As a basis of tunic I used a bodice pattern [2T-6T] (size 4T) from Burda Style.

Draw your pattern, adding 1-1,5 cm seam allowance. I passed that step beacuse I was sewing for a really skinny model. I advise to cut it into measure you actually need.

Jako bazy użyłam wykroju [2-6 lat] (rozmiar 104/4T) ze strony Burda Style. Odrysuj wzór dodając 1-1,5 cm na szwy. Ja pominęłam ten krok bo szyłam na bardzo szczupłą osóbkę. Toteż radzę wyciąć wykrój według osobistych preferencji.

Step 2.
Fold the blouse and pin the pattern to fabric. Draw the back neckline and lengthen the bodice as much as you prefer. Then cut the tunic and unfold.

Złóż bluzkę na pół i przypnij wykrój do tkaniny. Narysuj linię karku i przedłuż tunikę na preferowaną długość. Wytnij tunikę i rozłóż.

Step 3.
Put both pieces right sides together. Pin the shoulder line. Sew with stright stich.

Obie części ułóż prawy stronami do siebie. Przypnij szpilkami linię ramion. Przeszyj ściegiem prostym.

Step 4.
Draw 2 short sleeves and cut them. Pin them right sides together and sew along the shoulder line.

Narysuj 2 krótkie rękawy i wytnij je. Przypnij je prawymi stronami do siebie i przeszyj wzdłuż linii ramion.

Step 5.
Split both pieces of tunic and pin the sleeves into fabric. Sew the sleeves. Iron all the seams.

Rozłóż obie części tuniki i przypnij rękawy do tkaniny. Przyszyj rękawy. Zaprasuj wszystkie szwy.

Step 6.
Cut 2 stripes of fabric to make bias tape.
Pin the bias tape to the raw edges of sleeves and sew as seen on picture.

Wytnij 2 paski z tkaniny do zrobienia lamówki.
Przypnij lamówkę do rękawów i przyszyj tak, jak widać na zdjęciu.

Step 7.
Now, make the same with the back neckline.

Teraz, wykonaj to samo z linią karku.

Step 8.
You've got all trimmed. Pin the tunic from both sides and sew. Turn the finished tunic on right side and Voila!

Wszystko już zalamowane. Przypnij tunikę z obu stron i przeszyj. Odwróć gotową tunikę na prawą stronę i gotowe!

You may end here... but there's an optional 9th step if you are left some fabric.

I na tym możecie poprzestać... ale jeżeli zostanie Wam jeszcze odrobina materiału, możecie przejść do kroku nr 9.

9. Optional step:

You may add some details as a pocket and/or a small flower to remark the cross-over neckline. See the pitures belowe how to do it.

Opcjonalny krok. Możecie dodać parę detali takich, jak kieszeń albo mały kwiatek, żeby podkreślić linię krzyżowanego dekoltu. Zobaczcie poniższe zdjęcia.

POCKET - cut the pocket, iron the edges, pin to tunic and sew close to the edge.

KIESZEŃ - wytnij kieszeń, zaprasuj końce, przypnij do tuniki i przyszyj blisko krańców.

FLOWER
Cut the stripe of fabric, fold and iron. Sew on the right side. Pull the back thread and make the shirring. Now make a flower and hand sew to the fabrick.

KWIATEK
Wytnij pasek materiału, złóż na pół i zaprasuj. Przeszyj po prawej stronie. Pociągnij tylną nitkę i zmarszcz. Zrób kwiatka i przyszyj ręcznie do tkaniny.

To już naprawdę koniec. W ten sam sposób możecie przerobić dowolną kimo nową bluzkę lub top. Mam nadzieję, że bawiliście się przy tym tak samo dobrze jak ja :-)
